UNISON represents and acts for members working in a range of public services and utilities, whether they’re employed by private companies, public authorities or in the community and voluntary sector. We represent members, negotiate and bargain on their behalf, campaign for better working conditions and pay and for public services.
Besides advice, help and support at work, UNISON also represents and campaign on behalf of a number of groups such as Black members, young members, disabled members, LGBTQ members.
UNISON also offers a number of services such as legal help, financial assistance, accident and injury compensation, exclusive member discounts, a helpline, education, training and support.
Did you know that without unions we would not have two day weekends, 8 hour working days, paid maternity leave, retirement ages, occupational health and safety, workplace pensions, paid holidays, equality laws, the right not to be sacked because you got married, had a baby or became ill, pay increases, minimum wage, plus more besides!
UNISON continues this fight on behalf of its members to ensure these rights continue and that anything else that threatens our jobs and a decent standard of living is strongly challenged.
